Senior Developer, Merrimack, NH

 

Summary: : Design and development commercial grade application software for the enterprise version of ASA product line.  

Job Functions

  • Work as part of a dynamic team of programmers who are involved in the development of the next generation of ASA Tire's industry leading software.
  • Design, architect, implement, document, and test software components
  • Create unit level and integration level testing of software components and systems to ensure a high degree of quality
  • Collaborate with the ASA team (Product Management, Support, Sales) to understand and resolve customer issues.
  • Must have a desire to keep skills current and have a strong desire to produce quality software that meets our customers' needs.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to quickly grasp high level business goals, derive requirements, and translate them into effective technical solutions
  • Experience with the Progress OpenEdge language and database is a big plus
  • Exceptional OO design and programming skills with experience in applying industry standard Design Patterns
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, database design and SQL
  • Strong experience developing N-tier, Transactional applications preferably using technologies such as Java JEE, JPA, EJB3, Hibernate
  • 3+ years GUI development experience preferably using Eclipse SWT, JFace, RCP/RAP technologies
  • Ability to solve architectural and system issues involving scalability, distributed systems, and relational databases
  • Ability to fluidly change context and priorities based on changing business needs
  • Self-motivated, proactive, curious, responsible and flexible

Other Experience

  • BI reporting against relational databases
  • Linux/Unix experience
  • Design experience with UML.
  • Web development i.e. HTML/DHTML, AJAX, JavaScript, XSL, CSS, Apache
  • Experience with transactional business  applications involving Accounting, Order Entry and Inventory Control
  • Experience in the Tire and/or Automotive Aftermarket
