Progress/OpenEdge Programmer, Merrimack, NH

Work as part of a dynamic team of programmers who are involved in the rewrite of the Tire Systems Progress ChUI software to Progress Open Edge GUI.
Maintain and develop programs written in Progress Software Corporation’s OpenEdge language.
Help Support understand and resolve customer issues by learning our code and how our application works.
Must have a desire to keep skills current and have a strong desire to produce quality software that meets our customers’ needs.

At least 5+ years of OpenEdge development with strong, current, GUI applications experience, preferably using OE Architect.
Our application uses WebClient and AppServer so experience with this architecture is highly desired.
Development using ProDataSets and understanding of the PSC OERA architecture is a definite plus.
Experience in understanding User requirements, business application design and development is an essential requirement of the job.
Some experience with ChUI Progress would be beneficial as our GUI product is a transformation of a ChUI application.
Windows XP/Vista/7 knowledge is required for UI deployment. Experience with OCX’s/DLLS and OpenEdge is highly desired.
Must be familiar with the OpenEdge Database, have some database design skills and basic database administration ability.
Some Unix shell knowledge/scripting is required as the AppServer runs in a Solaris/Linux environment.
Some exposure to working with XML from the Progress ABL/4GL is desired for working with external interfaces.
Experience with Roundtable TSMS or other source control/deployment toolset is expected.

Interfacing OpenEdge to devices such as POS Signature capture, Credit Card
BI reporting against OpenEdge DB.
OOABL a plus or experience with other OO languages.
Design experience with UML.
Windows .Net Forms & Infragistics controls
WebSpeed and Browser development i.e. HTML/DHTML, AJAX, JavaScript, XSL, CSS, Apache
Experience with accounting applications involving POS, OE, AR/AP/GL, and Inventory Control
Experience in the Tire and/or Automotive Aftermarket
